Indoor Thermal Environment and Energy Characteristics with Varying Cooling System Capacity and Restart Time

Office cooling systems are controlled with on/off control according to typical occupancy patterns. During unoccupancy, the remain switched off reduce unnecessary energy consumption. occupancy, however, in operation decrease indoor air temperature, which is increased during set-point temperature. The time required temperature defined as “recovery time”. According recovery time, thermal comfort at start may worsen, and be consumed. Moreover, a system capacity affects consumption because amount of heat that can remove varies its size. Therefore, it necessary analyze environment restart system. This study implemented building simulation using EnergyPlus evaluate while varying time. As result, was between 49 425 min. varied 419.0 521.4 kWh for various capacities. 26 153 426.0 439.0 times.
